Default Re: Camshaft Failures in new 5.7?

There has been some word that it a replacement 5.7L engine costs 20K USD retail. News now comes that it costs Toyota 5K to replace a single 5.7L unit. It's not known if that is purely the cost to make a single 5.7L unit, or if it includes all the labor and service charges associated with installing a new engine. My guess is that the pure cost to cast and make the 5.7L unit is less than 5K.
