remote starter on corolla
my mother owns a 2000 toyota corolla with 20K miles on it. last year we had a remote starter installed at circuit city. today, the car started on its own, without the remote being used to activate it, without the key in the ignition. very christine. the only way we were able to turn off the car was to disconnect the battery terminals. is it possible the remote starter is the cause of this automated ignition? could it be the minibattery in the remote starter remote? or can the problem be with the toyota factory-installed starter mechanism? i've read where vehicle starters are responsible for vehicles not starting, but mine is the exact opposite dilemma. i'd appreciate any input you can provide since i am a complete girl when it comes to cars and their accessories. thanks in advance. alrm
