Default Re: How to correctly detail your auto

Just getting invloved in detailing for the first time.

I have a 2005 Toyota Sequoia in Phantom Gray that has a pretty good paint surface. I have Menzerna Final Polish II and a CCS white pad. I am going to use the spray lube for clay to wet the pad, place a dime sized amount of MFP on it and buff until the polish breaks down.

How much lube should i put on the pad? If i break the hood into four sections, should i lube the pad before each one? Or just once for the entire use of that pad.

Also, what do i look for to detemine that the polish has broken down? i am not clear on this. after awhile do i wipe it and look for how clear the reflection is?

When i am done, do i put the pad into a bucket of water with snappy or something similar and leave it in for a period of time or do i massage the polish residue out and then put it up somehwere to dry until the next use?
