I have owned 7 jeeps, and replaced windshields on every single one of them (some multiple times). Instead of a rock deflecting, the windshield takes the whole impact.

Agreed, I've got the same problem with my XB. I've got 3 starburst and one 4 inch crack. I used super glue on the starburst cracks and they haven't spread. Worst yet, a small pebble about the size of a pea made it through the honey comb grill and took out my air conditioning compressor. The dealer talked to the regional rep about it and picked up the cost of the compressor but I had to pay the $200 labor cost. I installed a billet grill to protect the compressor but haven't found billet for the windshield yet.
