Default Re: Spray On Bedliners

The Toyota dealership that I service installs the rail system on ALL of their Tundras. We take them out, apply LINE-X, and reinstall and to date have not experienced any problems. Well, OK, we had one problem: The very first new Tundra, we stripped a couple of the rail mounting screws because we were removing them by hand. We do it differently now and that solved that problem.

We remove the tie downs, bed bolts, and tailgate access panel screws unless the customer wants them all sprayed over. I have to say that out of all the trucks we work on, Toyota bolts, screws, etc. are the most temperamental.

As far as keeping LINE-X looking good, the easiest thing to do is to opt for UV protection. Several products are available, the best is Xtra. If you don't opt for UV protection, you need to occasionally apply a product like 303 Aerospace or Just Once (justonce.com). If you'll do that, the liner will retain its good looks.
