I have posted on this very topic before, but here we go again.

twice a year I drive from close to canada to San diego on I 5...when I hit the grapevine down into La the roads simply suck. My first time was with my then new 3/4 ton cummins, and I have to tell you that it full on shocked me how horrible it road emtpy. I just could not believe it. I went to home depot and bought 5 80 pound bags of gravel, and it made a huge difference. It put enough weight in the back (sit them close to the tailgate for best leverage) to allow the suspension to work. If the ride empty is bugging you, don't wait for the suspension to "break in" it just won't settle enough.

My 2007 tundra rides much better then my dodge, and I am heading south next month to test the dreaded, legendary LA freeway system again...
