I do have a couple of tips:
1) If you plan to install an aftermarket rearview camera,
ipod adapter, amp wiring, or dvd changer, do it while you take the dash apart. I say this because the dash is a decent amount of work to take off. You need to take off the trim around the guages, the A/C bezel and the stereo.
2) Buy the toyota plug adapter from wal-mart, the internet, or a stereo store. This will save you a ton of time of chasing wires down and splicing.

Install was about 2.5 hours and was my third stereo installation. I didn't have the instructions for taking the dash apart and the majority of my time was wasted on that.
