I know next year Dodge is releasing a 1/2 ton redesigned Ram with an all new 5.6L Cummins V8. That should be one HOT selling truck IMO. Last numbers I saw were 300/540 with epa ratings of 19 city and 24 hwy but who knows what it will be at the time of release. They are also going to put a new 4.2L Cummins V6 into the durango. You can already get the Grand Cherokee with a diesel I think.

There's a whole host of reasons why there are few diesel options in the US. IMO, most of them stem from the oil companies and the goverments conspiracy to keep fuel efficent vehicles from hitting the market which means higher profits for both. JMO.
