We also have Mercedes diesels.
I don't believe most Americans would want diesels in their cars (cost and noise).
I think the only reason we don't already have 1/2 tons with diesels is cost. Current diesels in the HD trucks add $6K to $7K to the MSRP. Tack that on to the price of your favorite half ton!! That said, I think a diesel Tundra 1/2 ton would be really sweet!!
