Great post but Toyota puts Torque Specs on bolts they feel that need them and yes you may never strip a thread but the one time you do you will be kicking yourself!! Oil drain plug i think is like only 9 Ftlb and would probably be over torqued very easy!! People that say Torque values are useless have no use working on a vehicle, especially mine!! Had to do retorque after Dealer did ball joints on my 06 DC on the tires and my 150Ftlb Torque wrench would do nothing but click and torque was supposed to be only 83 Ft lb. Stupid Techs get away with this and yes this will warp the brake rotors. My take on DIY Maintenance is ya gotta have a clue on Maintenance or i would advise letting a Qualified Tech do the work if ya can find one!!
