I go on snowmobile and motorcycle forums too, and theres a reason mfgs have to keep forums like this and others at arms length. They know first hand how many problems there are by what the dealers are reporting. Whether it jives with what the internet is saying, we can only guess. None of us have a clue what the real % of failures vs trucks sold are, or whether they fall under normal rates for any other vehicle. Right now, the Tundra has a huge bulls eye on its hood, all the buy American crowd loves to dog it, right or wrong. I'm guessing that there aren't nearly as many transmission issues as this thread might lead some to believe.

Yeah not to screw myself over but I was online with another board with stereo equipment years back and after getting a set of subs I started hearing the failure rates and was freaking out. Everyone began slamming the company. The subs did have a 3 year warranty but people said the company was making excuses for not doing the repairs saying it was the users fault. Anyway I put the speakers in the proper sized box powered them at their rms rating and played them loud never having a problem up until the day I sold them (which made them around 4 years old).
Not saying these aren't legit claims on this thread just saying that sometimes you can get the wrong picture.
Also those with tranny issues did you manually shift the vehicle during the first 1,000 miles or did you keep it in auto shift mode?
