When they replaced my transmission and it was at 500 miles too. Toyota shipped in a new transmission to Atlanta Toyota and I kept a copy of the warranty invoice to prove it.
If you got a .. "rebuilt transmission" .. I would think that the dealer would have to show that on the paperwork stating that it was "rebuilt" ?????
When you picked up the Tundra from the service dept .. did they give you warranty paperwork to sign and a copy for your records ???
My dealer was fantastic .. took my Tundra in Thursday AM, gave me a rental car of my choice, and my Tundra was ready that next Monday PM and I picked it up on Tuesday AM.
Then they shipped the defective transmission to CA for inspection.
SOS
PS .. When I asked if my replacement tranny would be new or rebuilt ???
I was told by the dealer that it would be a new one and there were no rebuilt trannys on the market.
I did NOT want a rebuilt anything on my new Tundra.
Maybe your tech was mistaken ??
I just can't believe that Toyota would do that .. especially on a new vehicle with 500 miles on it.
