It really depends on what you want. I wanted an exceptional sound quality (SQ) with good iPod controls. If you want bells and whistles like nav, etc. the AVIC is awesome. If you want decent SQ with in-dash DVD and exceptional iPod control, check out the Clarion MAX675 (~$600).
