Every 2005, 2006 and many 2007 Avalons are affected by this TSB. This is not a hit and miss thing. "ALL" of these Avalons have the problem this TSB fixes and now every Toyota dealer in the U. S. is going to get besieged by customers wanting this fix.
The dealers would love to push a button and make this go away, but it's not going to happen.
I finally got around to calling the dealer my wife bought her '06 Avalon from yesterday. They acted dumb as I suspetced they would. My expereince with them to date has been less than impressive.
I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude, not because I don't believe in the fix, but because I have little faith in the dealership I'm having to use.
