We use these products in our house, and it does work.
You can use the version that is simply drops, You can leave the drops in your vehicle on a piece of cardboard - you don't have to place it directly on your carpeting or seats. This way when you use your car, you can remove the cardboard - clean and simple. All you would have to do is clean up the dead ants later.

yeah i saw that product in home depot....do you think it'd be safe if decided to put the drops on the side floor panel instead of the cardboard cause thats where i usually see them running by.
