Good mpg!
I filled the tank up last night, and looking at my gas calculations, I got 18mpg on my first tank! That is pretty mixed driving, though probably 60% was highway. Still, there was a lot of idling, etc as things were being installed, programmed, explained, etc. A lot of driving on the beltway as well, so, all-in-all its been pretty good. I haven’t mashed the gas pedal yet, but I’ve had to step on it a few times to get in and around traffic. Still that is pretty good for a CM SR5 4x4! I filled up the tank after having gone 358 miles, and didn’t quite hit 20 gallons on the fill up. The truck read that I still had 38 miles left, but I think the 6.4 extra gallons probably would have provided another 120 miles or so… so the 38 miles is probably just until the “warning” light comes on leaving me with approximately 4 gallons left. All-in-all not bad at all… if I really do see better mileage down the road, that will definitely be great! My trade-in seemed to actually max-out in mpg when it reached about 65K miles… after that it was consistently 25.5 mpg average (but having to use the more expensive “premium” gas). I’m glad the Tundra uses just regular…
