I just pulled a quick read off my 'puter which sez 16.3 mpg mostly hiway drivin', I too turn off the VSC..but not completely (both, 3 sec hold)
I noticed another post here that best mileage is @ 60 mph..so I set my cruz to that...seems to work !
My 'empty' read was after the mt lite came on and I figger'd 4 gal reserve which @ avg. 16 mpg, gives me 64 XTRA miles prior to total poopout.
I still am having some difficuly, as others are as well, with the gas figures I've been see'n from 5.7 owners....I can 'get' +22 readings off my 'puter...don't mean squat, until you do a EoT reading and calculate long hand for the final figure. I realize the the sixth overdrive gear allows for less fuel consumption but the additional weight, both in vehicle and displacement argues for less mileage....just my 2 cents worth :devil":
I'd like to more about the sequential shift as my 'dealer' has no idea...I have an Acura RSX with sequential shift..but it automatically shifts down to first gear when she stops..ready to take off again...the Tundra is al over the place during shifts but never downshifts back down automatically ????
Anyone have a good explanation ???
