and you lost me on the front half and mini convo . i don't work at a dealer but normally spend at least 6 hours a week at one and I know how much fleet guys make as well as a cheap sale will make for a regular salesman.

How about I go to trustmyownarse.com..........they both ride fine. The Ford has a superiour/stronger frame. The Tundra frame is more than adequate for its intended purpose. The Tundra has a better powertrain and brakes.
To me, the Toys atributes win out at the moment.
Salesman generally make 20% of the gross of the deal. On my deal the salesman would have made $180.....there are usually escalating bonuses as the salesman sells more units.
A "mini" is usually around $100 meaning any gross under $500 still makes the salesman some money.
Some dealers pay on the "back half" meaning if there's a trade, the salesman will get a % of that gross also. Sometimes there's spiffs to the salesman if they prime the customer for an extended warranty etc...
The finance guy, of course, makes his money off the gross on warranties, Lo-Jac, tinting and anything else he tacks on during the signing of the contract.
Not only did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I was the Finance manager at one of the largest Ford dealerships in the country back in the day.
Believe me, you/I are not going to get a NAV/4 disc changer/backup monitor/12 speakers/440 watt amp/sub for $1,100........and the last thing I want to do to my brand new 35K truck is gut it for an install.
