I think ARB bumpers are awesome. We just put one on my brother's Dodge. It's beautiful and functional, and I've read everything I can find on them. Unfortunately, as of my last check with ARB USA, they don't have a Sahara-bar designed to fit the 2006 double-cab Tundra without modification.
And you're right, you can say whatever you wish on-line, no matter how silly. That doesn't mean we're obliged to swallow it.
Those who regularly work on traffic crash sites and study NHTSA crash data, or even those with common sense, will know that it's complete crapola to suggest that small "crumple zones" on a 200 pound bumper will produce a significant difference in crash mortality in a 7,000 pound truck. The majority of the energy absorbing capacity of the vehicle, ARB equipped or not, resides in the chassis and frame design, not the few inches of steel in the small bumper in front of it all.
As long as the bumper doesn't adversely effect air-bag deployment, a "Brand-X" bumper isn't going to "Kill ya".
Sheesh...
