I've got a 95.5 Taco 4x4 extended cab 5 spd w/ the 2.7 4 cyl. (3rzfe) I have had the starter rebuilt a few years back after I soaked it in a creek and the points corroded. I replaced the stock exhaust manifiold around 150k after it cracked. I replaced it with a LC Performance header that lasted about 100k before it cracked the welds at the 4 into 1 collector. Then i went back to the stock manifold. I have replaced all 4 shocks once. I upgraded the front springs to v6 automatic spring rates to make up for my TJM Bull bar and winch housing. I've never replaced the front rotors and I have never changed the rear brake pads. I'm still on the stock clutch and exhaust!! Besides that just front brakes a few times, fluids, belts etc.. I changed out the tranny, transfer case and diffs with sythetic 75-90w at 100k and again at 250k. I'm now at 272k and counting. I still get 20mpg if I run 75mph w/ the cruise on. This truck has been abused but never neglected. Most of the body panels have been replaced at one time or the other due to abuse. I did the deck plate mod 4 or 5 yrs ago and I have a K&N with around 200k on it. I'm religious with 3k oil changes. I just run dino oil. Valvoline or Castrol GTX, what ever is on sale that week. I have photos of the old girl 3 foot in the air and I have had water in the cab more times that I can remember. The tranny and tranfer case both just barely leak. I mean I have spots the size of silver dollars where I park it every day and the levels never noticably change. She still doesn't burn any oil. This old Taco is the ROOSTER. You know she aint gunna die. I plan on 300k easy. I might get sick of driving it before I wear it out. It's really a matter of how long I can go before I want a new Tundra. But I haven't had a repair bill in years. I haven't had a payment since 99'. It's hard to give the old girl up with a track record like that. She dosen't owe me a penny. This truck has never left me stranded. I find it hard to believe that I can find anything new, even a new Toyota that will be this good to me.
