The Fit's will give me 35MPG's routinely...if the headwinds are bad it may be less. The Matrix will get us 2-3 MPG's less on the same route. Some drivers like the Fit better, some like the Matrix better. It's interesting to hear them compare the two...

All time best MPG's are:

Fit = 38 MPG
Matrix = 35 MPG

Remember, we drive 65 mph on the 2-lane and 75 mph on the Interstate - legally. I know some of my drivers push way beyond that. Even at 55 MPH I simply don't believe the Fit would EVER give 50 MPG's, unless they get a hybrid version...

This year I bought one Hyundai Accent GS hatchback. It was VERY cheap and has about 10K on it already. Be interesting to see how it holds up, the mileage on it is similar so far to the Matrix but it has noticably less acceleration power. It holds it's own once it gets to speeed tho'.
wow. it really is amazin how much each car varies. i am averaging 38mpg with my matrix. my aunt bought the FIT. she is averaging 45mpg. she is an RCMP officer in BC. she drives aprox. 30km's a day mostly highway. she is ANAL about EVERYTHING. she is the one who tolf me about the fit. sucks that you are only getting those mpg's....although my aunt does drive like a grandma..lol i can just imagine how your employee's drive em!
