Re: Installed the Thorley headers today...
Big Al's fixed the 2 mistakes I made but could not get the 2 nuts on the studs..so I am taking a chance that between the metal gaskets and there being 7/8 nuts on the header that I will be ok..I spent time on the phone with the guys from Thorley re-living my experience and hopefully there will be improvements to the instrucitons...the 2 nuts that I could not get on should have been the first two to be put on but I did not know that.
Driving it last night and this morning there is a noticeable improvement..before when needing to accelerate the truck would downshift..not any more! It pulls nicely off the line and does not fall off..and from a 55-60 roll when I accerlarate it pulls hard!
I have a CAI/cat back and with the headers it is louder; only makes sense since the pipes are larger; if you want your truck to be as quiet as stock don't swap the headers/cat back...I love the sound of the big V8 but that may not be for everyone..
