My new tranny is due at the dealer today. In the mean time I called the Toyota national customer service line and reported my experience. It was odd that the person I spoke to offered the option for Toyota to buy back my truck. Yes... really....
I responded saying the dealer had done it's level best to make me happy so wasn't going to complain on them. However after two tranny replacements I have lost confidence in the long term reliability of my truck. Really stinks because I haven't been able to find another new one like mine available anywhere in the Southeast Region. Likely, due to the fact that 08 models are due in next month. If they will buy it back I may go back to my 2001 Tundra until the 08's are discounted.
Still debating the issue in my mind.... bottom line is I will wait and see how this next replacement works out. Leaning heavy on the buy back at this point.
