Re: 2007 6 speed transmission failures
Then I am happy for you, truly.
But you should'nt expect to come to a Tundra forum and not get bashed/ruffle feathers.
I buy what I like and I AM 'gunshy' of the big 3 as ones I have had fall short of my expectation of quality control. I should not have a finger size gap on one side of dash and not other of a 100th Anniversary Harley truck for instance.
Being brought up in UK with parents owning a Dealership before I was born I learnt ALOT. My dad eventually dropped the dealership (due to funky stock he was being made to take) and started selling low mileage Datsuns and Toyotas. These vehicles were the most reliable and well built and never gave us issues. And if a problem did arise the manufacturer always stepped up.
I believe the ethos of the Domestic manufacturer has to come up to that of the Foreign before drastic change is made. They may have started but IMHO they are still WAY off.
I also understand 'brand loyalt' and 'patriotism' (although the latter is somewhat moot due to where/how the Tundra is built), but when I am spending this much money I want the best bang for my $.
I really think maybe alot of the issues are with the ECU/Computer. But if they are, Toyota is going all out to fix it and satisfy their csutomers, which is commendable indeed!
