Default Re: Transmission Fault Identified?

I thought I would add my experience with this issue. Mine is a 9/07 San Antonio build with 600 miles, DC. The original post stated most everything correctly in the details - they do think they have a fix and it is in the torque converter. I placed a call to a local dealer's service manager on a Friday and explained what I had experienced from day one and what I had read on the forums. Told him I didn't want to overreact and just wanted some detail about the transmission issue and what to expect. He wasn't familiar with the problem but was very receptive and attentive to my story. He stated he would contact the area Toyota rep and would speak to his shop foreman and then would get back to me. On Monday he called and said the shop foreman had notes on the problem and after speaking to the rep, he learned that the problem had been addressed in a new transmission build as of Oct. 1. Said to bring the truck in and a new transmission would be ordered and installed within 3-4 days. The shop foreman rode with me and we experienced the "rumble strip" vibration. He felt the problem should not be ignored and would lead to more problems in the tq converter. The transmission was pulled off the assembly line in SA and shipped to Dallas, and was brand new. Took the truck in on Tuesday afternoon and got in back Thursday afternoon. The problem is gone and all seems very smooth. They want me to check back in a week and give them a report and to let them know if anything at anytime seems wrong. I was very impressed with the service and the response. And I am not one to heap praise if it is not due. Sports City Toyota in Dallas area.
