Default Re: Transmission Fault Identified?

Ok, my rumble strip experience is following in line with the others. The tech spoke to the big wigs at Toyota, told him to disconnect the brake light so that the torque converter would not engage and see if the problem went away. It did, so apparently it is a torque converter issue. Toyota told them to replace my tranny. The issue now is that they do not have a "new tranny part number so they are not available. I'm told there is a remanufactured one here in Portland they could put in right away. I've decided against it, partly due to recommendation of the tech who is a cool guy, and will fight Toyota for a new tranny off the line. If what everyone is saying is true that the tranny's have been modified post Oct. 1, why would I want a remanufactured unit put in my truck that may experience the same problem?
