Default Re: Transmission Fault Identified?

Bwalky,
I think there may have been some confusion at your dealer concerning how the Brake light switch functions in association with the TC. Probably doesn't matter at this point if they are willing to put in a new Tranny.
On the other hand, having conferred with many posters on this site and talked to dealer SM, Area Rp and National Customer relations.... Reman is a program Toyota uses to replace tranny's. We have a long list of Toyota representatives who claim, verify, insist that no rebuilt 6 speed transmissions exist for the 07 Tundra. Toyota has not yet begun the remanufacture of the faulty units which is where they would come from.
So far all of us on this site who have had their Trans. successfully replaced have service paperwork that says REMAN ATM. Dealers claim these are all brand spankin new transmissions.
Indeed, we have seen a number of posts claiming Toyota found the problem with the rumble and has already completed redesign, and implemented changes for Oct.1 forward manufacturing. This remains to be seen as I don't think any of us on here can verify that claim for sure.
I can say that I have personnally been in contact with Toyota's Customer Relations in Ca. His name is Salvador. I would be glad to provide his number. Anyway, he basically told me the same thing I have just stated herein. Toyota is not going to tell any of us what the specific problem was or is. Nor will they share with us what the engineering fix is or was. He did tell me that if a know problem with a transmission crops up and is verifiable and it affects other units. All existing units are pulled from stock and basically black listed so they can't be put into another vehicle ... Period.
Toyota does not deplete existing stock of these items and risk having a failure. Just one more reason I have owned nothing but Toyota since 1992.
Hope this post helps some make decision to move forward and get their rumble taken care of.
I get mine back tomorrow and am expecting good things. In the mean time have insisted that Toyota provide me with fact certain that my new tranny is post Oct. 1 mfg including design improvement. We'll see.
