This is so true. The dealers out here are a year behind everyone else. I think it might be due to lack of volume in sales. The two dealers I now frequent are Gladstone Toyota and Ron Tonkin Toyota - the latter one having the better, more experienced service department. Once the official TSB on this was released, techs were more in tune to acknowledging this problem. When I experienced some shudder from my transmission the first time, I knew darn well it was a problem with the torque converter and couldn't convince any of the guys out here until the TSB popped up through toyota themselves.
