Consumer reports is the most objective information source we have available - certainly much more reliable than the car dealers and Toyota zealots on this forum.

Dude....both of my Tacomas with the 3.4L V-6 you had to remove the skid plate in order to change the oil . This is not new, and the 3.4L V-6 was/is a great long life engine. So to say that the 5.7 is not up to the previous Toyota standards because of the skid plate removal on oil changes is not a well informed statement. Not that I dont like where the oil filter is on my wifes Runner with the 4.0L (grin) but pulling the skid plate to change the oil is not something new to Toyotas.
