I’m not sure I get this CR review at all… by all measures (even consumer reviews posted on their site), they’re doing as good or better than the competition. The Tundra gets dinged for a rough ride with the TRD package and the 4wd system automatically disengaging electronic stability control, but the predicted reliability of the truck is poor. The funny thing is that almost every measure of the truck from drive train to owner satisfaction to depreciation is either excellent or very good. But somehow predicted reliability is poor. I guess we’ll all find out in a few years… maybe they see potential problems that we can’t see or maybe it was based on the initial transmission problems that came out with the first builds. Either way though, this will look bad for Toyota for sure. But I think that we can’t discount this yet, nor can we confirm it because it isn’t something that is easily measured right now. So, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. So far for me, no problem on my 4x4 CM. I hope it will stay that way!
