Default Re: New Tires for the TRD and what a difference!!!

Quite a story with the bear! Glad to hear all ended well.

Do you think the OEM TRD tires are that bad & are a safety hazard?

My wife and I don't have a lot of experience off-roading and I do plan on spending quite a bit of time in snow country this winter, doing some moderate off roading. Part of my choice (or excuse) for getting an '07 Tundra was all of the safety features, so I am disappointed to hear about the poor quality tires.

I just bought an DC 4WD Limited TRD, 100,000 mile warranty, added the Snugtop Hi-liner, Rhino liner, and nerf bars. Now you're telling me I need to dish out another $1K for tires? If you guys think it will make a difference for safety and snow driving ability I will just fork out the cash, but if I could get buy with the OEM tires I would be tempted to just leave them alone.
