It hasn't been out all that long. I did a ton of research on this purchase (unlike my previous JBA purchase) and it is in route to me now. (21st century exhaust in Florida. $475 for the complete system and they had it in stock ready to ship same day. I should know something next week about it first hand and will let you know. I made at least 25 calls to various wholesalers, manufacturers, dealers, muffler shops etc. asking every question I could think of and just listening more than anything. The one thing everyone seemed to agree on was that flowmaster did more dyno testing per specific vehicle than anyone which translated to a higher cost because of R&D. Yes they do use aluminized 16G steel which is eventually going to rust. maybe 10+ years in a good climate maybe 5 or so in a rough wintery climate with a lot of salt. (hey, I would like to think I'll keep this truck for 20 years but I've never kept one for more than 3 years thus far so this set up will work for my particular needs--not for everyone). This particular exhaust was tuned exclusively for the tundra 5.7 and was a 50 series big block muffler to begin with and was then tuned for the Tundra. The first hand feedback I got, which was two different people that had installed the exhaust said they couldn't be happier with a deep throaty growl--not obtrusively loud but deep. But inside the cabin the sound was more than tolerable. No loss in low end torque like I have with this JBA crap. I'm just hoping all the time I spent gathering information pays off this time and I get a good deep sound outside and a controlled sound inside. Gas mileage gains would be cake and performance gains would be ice cream. I want people, (dodge, ford and chevy boys), to know this truck has a lot of bite to go with the bark when i need it.
