Default Re: DIY: OEM Security System Install

It does not say you need to activate it in the instructions, but I have yet to find anyone who has installed it that had it work with out activating by a dealer. Sparks was not aware of it either. I have a friend who is a Lexus tech. He check his sources and it seems the security system is one of those things that is able to be customized by plugging into the truck harness with a factory program. Since the truck did not come with it the ecu for that function is in the off position.

This is similar to what I had to have him do to turn off the auto-lock feature, get the key and fob to unlock all the doors at the same time, and turn off the chirp when you lock the doors. He plugged into the harness and in 5 minutes we customized several things.
