I just tore into mine and I duct taped the heater box together more tightly than it was and felted everything I could get my hands on back there. In my particular case it was the two plastic vents rubbing together causing a rattle/popping sound. I couldnt see any clips from that angle so I dont know for sure what the exact piece was........ I just grabbed that flat piece to get it to make the noise. If you take the radio out you will see the small plastic piece that I grabbed to duplicate the sound down to the right. By moving that up and down it made the sound loud and clear. By adding pressure to the two vents the sound stopped, so I stuffed the area tight with a bunch of felt and it quit.
Hopefully your duct tape and felt works too.
