I have tested the speed pulse device with firmware versions 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 and it worked the same for all of them. I believe it will work with all future versions as well since Toyota isn't likely to change the core logic in the firmware given that the code has to be backward compatible.

Everyone has their own idea on where to put the bypass switch and what type of switch to get, but most seem to be drilling a small hole in the dashboard or center console and installing a small or medium toggle in that location.
