Re: Instructions for installing an OEM Nav in your '07 w/JBL
Finally got everything installed today. It went pretty good. Taking apart the dash, removing the glove box etc was easier than I thought and definately worth the time. Took about half a day with several interruptions. Everthing works like it should. As for the camera, I ran some 16/4 speaker wire from the overhead down the right side pillar and across the support bar with the reverse sensor wire. The wires connect into the mic connector. The wiring at the mic connector goes as following: Black to pin #24, white to pin #21. red to pin #22 and grey to pin #23. Don't worry about the rest of the wires in the factory installed wiring harness in the overhead counsole, they must be for power, ground etc. of the monitor. As far as running the wires into the mic connector: I bought a wiring harness for the audio on a cd rom drive for a computer. If you can find just the pins all the better. The pins fit perfectly into the mic connector. The speaker wire had white, black, red and green wires. I simply matched the green to the gray and then red to red, white to white and black to black. As for the overhead counsole I have temporarily removed the four pins and wires from the harness, stripped the speaker wire back and wrapped the speaker wire around the pins with a generous amount of electrical tape around them. Ideally I would like to make my own plug, if this is too tuff then I will simply cut the pins of the red, white, black and grey wires, twist them with the speaker wires and cap them off with some connectors.
