Like I mentioned, Flowmaster recently released a dual cat-back system for the Tundra and it has an H-pipe incorporated into the 2 front pipes like I described above.
The H-pipe isn't MY theory. I did spend literally hours searching different forums for exhaust info and read a lot of posts that talked about low end loss and drone etc. That is where I found out about it. It's a popular thing with Mustang exhausts. As far as Flowmaster getting the idea to use the H-pipe in their system by reading this forum, I find that highly unlikely.
