I had my own experience back in April when I bought the truck. It came with the TRD exhaust. There was a mild drone and it got really loud when accelerating with my travel trailer attached
. I took it to a muffler shop and told them that I wanted to keep the TRD dual pipes but change out the muffler. They stacked two generic stock mufflers next to each other on their sides maintaining the true duals all the way out. I immediately noticed the sound was not balanced and asked them to put in an H crossover just prior to the mufflers. Problem solved. It still has a low end growl to give it that truck sound and is very quiet in the cab. Only hear it on acceleration and the sound is pure muscle with no drone
. So I am left with a TRD paperweight unless someone wants it cheap.
