Balances the system and substantially reduces any "drone" you may be experiencing. Should be installed 12" to 18" upstream from the buzz can.
If I may be so bold as to quote a former respected member.

H-pipes are not a total cure,but they will retard resonance at a more affordable rate then dropping more coin for another muffler.A well equipped muffler shop can fab/install an H-pipe in less the 30 min. If they dont have a tubing notcher their not a muffler shop IMO "
