You can google search tint laws by state. In texas, you can spraypaint your back window black if you want but the front windows have to have 25% light transmission last time I checked. The peoblem is most tint manufacturers go from 20% to 35% with nothing in between. I just put 20% on my front windows and haven't had a cop give me a second look yet
