Yes, it gets better as you put more miles on it. I have a 4X4 DC TRD 5.7. Mileage varies among trucks and especially drivers. My Son gets 14.5 on our truck - I get 16.5. The truck also has to "learn" your habits.One suggestion I have is to keep your computer set so you can see the instant mileage for a while. This will teach you what your truck likes and dislikes.
