Default Re: 2006 Sienna - Fantastic MPG?

I have a 2000 sienna xle. the gas mileage is still very good, even nowadays when gas prices are going up. you would think that the sienna's mpg (especially since it was probably first designed in late 1995 into 1996) would not even come close to newer cars today...well the truth is it really does come close. every year i take the family on camping trips in our van. we put the two (teenagers) in the second row, take out the third row and load up the entire rear-end with camping equipment. with 4 adults in the car, each weighing an avg. 170lbs each, add to that the camping gear with probably weighs close to a 1,000..then add the trailer we have, we probably haul anywhere between 1500 and 2000 lbs of weight from chicago to northern michigan every year. covering about 150 miles each way, we can make it back to chicago with enough gas to keep me going to work every day for the rest of the week. that van is simply impressive.
