Do you have insurance on the vehicle? If you do, call your insurance company and ask them what the deductible is for a windshield. You should read your policy first and you will know. Tell them the windshield is cracked and needs replaced. They should tell you to get it repaired and then all you should have to do is give the glass company your insurance information and pay the deductible. I have done this a bunch living in Alaska for the past 25 freaking years.
