Nope, you can't activate it yourself. It's a crock, for sure. Like I said, I paid $30 for their time, even though it took a whole 15 minutes for them to do it. I have had people tell me they had it done for free, though. I know a dealership isn't a charity, so I didn't mind paying a little, but I surely wasn't going to pay the $60 they told me...that's why I bargained
