Default Re: Factory Roof Rack

I had the same problem as Toyo_tundun- How to secure stuff on the factory roof rack. I finally decided that the Yakima Universal mighty mounts did the job I needed them to do-bascially secure my snowboard rack and/or canoe.

After looking at the way the whole factory rack bars lock in, I wasn't comfortable with it. I ended up taking off the factory rack and using a Yakima crossbar over the front of the cab and Yakima bars on the ARE shell. I feel much more secure with the bulletproof Yakima setup then with the factory rack. Glad I saved those weatherstrips as well. A bit of new 3M adhesive tape and they went right back on where they came off.
