You should really at least get a upper control arm. That stock suspension isn't meant for that big of a geometry change. You may end up replacing quite a few upper ball joints in the life of the truck not accounting for any other problems. The upper arm will correct the jacked up camber to a better angle as well as giving you a 1" uniball which is by far better then any balljoint.
If I were you I would shell out the money and do a lift kit right. I've had nothing but bad experiences with cheap lifts. Something like this will give you an excellent ride, especially off-road http://www.camburg.com/images/2007%2...Full%20Kit.jpg
