Default Re: Finally fixed my dash rattle

When mine began making noise I took it up to the dealer for an oil change and mentioned the rattle to the service manager. He said once they found it all they would do is stuff some foam or felt in the area until it stopped. I figured why put myself out by letting the dealer have my truck for 2 days when I can probably fix this myself in an hour using the same fix they were going to.

After owning a couple Chevys I became a rattle chasing expert, so I was up to the challenge. Lucky for me I was able to find it and fix it within a few minutes once I took the dash apart. Doing it myself I was able to take my time and make sure nothing was scratched or damaged. They techs at the dealer care about your car, but only to an extent. No ones going to take better care of your car than you would. Taking the dash apart on these trucks is simple, but if you dont feel like it than you could always take it in. I totally understand the frustration of having rattles and not knowing where they're coming from. But with a little patience its a very easy fix.
