SubjectToyota Tundra Options Discussion Thread Response (Jay Spencer)01/18/2008 12:47 PMMr. Doyle,
Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
We thank you for your interest in the Toyota Tundra and apologize that the engine and bed options currently available do not meet your needs. Toyota is very aware of the interest in a diesel engine option for the Tundra and this past week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Katsuaki Watanabe, president of Toyota Motor Corporation confirmed that a new clean diesel V8 engine will be offered in both the Tundra and Sequoia in the near future. While no mention was made of an additional bed option for the Crew Max, we are aware of consumer interest in this type of vehicle and it is currently being reviewed. We thank you for your enthusiasm about our products and hope that you will continue to consider Toyota for your driving needs.

I don't understand why they don't just go ahead and do the 6.5' bed on the CrewMax. They already have the frame (DC long bed) and the bed (DC short bed). Seems like all they have to do is mate them together. If that option was available I'd be a Tundra CrewMax owner tomorrow.
