Default Re: 2008 Transmission Problems Too!

Please, help us understand the peculiarities with our transmissions...

Our 99 Solara, 2002 Tundra and 2004 Camry had wonderful - normal acting transmissions. Sitting in the rear seat did not cause your teeth to rattle when the the vehicle rumbles violently at 40mph.

I keep hearing about it being a "Drive-by-Wire" vehicle and we have to get used to it. In fact, it is more like a "Drive-by-Chimp" system.
Please picture a chimpanzee under your hood while holding the accelerator cable in one hand and holding the throttle body cable in the other hand.
(I will get to work with Photoshop immediately)

I can control the chimp by moving my gated shifter just fine - however if I had known ahead of time, I would have purchased a manual with a clutch and saved some $$$ - or looked harder at other models/brands.

If the field techs can get engineering to admit their mistake, maybe we can expect some new software (bananas) by summer.
