Default Re: Avg. MPG '02 Tacoma Dbl. Cab 4cyl. 2.7L

I'm actually considering stepping down from my Tundra DC to a Tacoma DC to try to get better gas mileage.

I have an 06 Tundra DC 4x4, Snug Top, spacer lift with 285/75 16's. I religiously check my mileage when I fill up through a mixture of highway/city driving. I generally get about 14.0-14.5 mpg, freeway I'll get 15.5, but it's a big truck, LOTS of space.

I would consider getting something smaller for better mileage, but only if the trade off is favorable. In other words, I don't want to give up all the room and cargo space for the sake of 3-4 miles per gallon.

So that's what brings me to the 2.7 liter, 4 cyl, 2wd, Tacoma DC option. Word on the street is that these trucks can get as much as 24 miles per gallon. That's a considerable difference to what I get now.

For you guys who track your mileage very regularly? Is this consistent? What's your combined city/highway mileage? etc., etc.?
